As part of my interest in all things Somerville, I recently became a member of the Young Somerville Advisory Group. For a complete rundown of who we are and what we do you can read about us on the City of Somerville’s website.
We meet every third Wednesday of the month from 6:30 – 8:00 PM at the TAB Building in Teele Square (167 Holland Street, second floor, Somerville, 02144). Our meetings are built around presentations and Q&A with various city and non-profit groups. These meetings give us the opportunity to invite speakers we want to hear from, learn about what they do, ask questions and voice our opinions. Our recent meetings have included talks with Carrie Dancy, Executive Director of East Somerville Main Streets and Brad Rawson, Economic Development Planner with the City of Somerville’s Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development.
Our next meeting is Wednesday, February 16th and we’ll be talking with Daniel Hadley, head of ResiStat for the City of Somerville. (Read my ode to ResiStat here.) On the agenda is ResiStat and an update on the progress of the city’s new website. Join us!
