East Somerville Main Streets – Foodie Crawl!

Hello! I know, I know, it’s been a little while (okay, a couple months) since I last posted, but I’ve had a busy summer. I hope that you, too, have enjoyed your summer in and out of the ‘Ville.

My next post will have data and analysis on the Somerville real estate market YTD, but I wanted to give some publicity first to the upcoming East Somerville Main Street’s Foodie Crawl.

This Tuesday, September 18th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, East Somerville Main Streets is hosting their second annual Foodie Crawl. The event is an opportunity for you and your friends to explore the culinary diversity of East Broadway. For $20 you get a ticket that allows you to sample delicious dishes from the dozen or so restaurants that line East Broadway. In addition to trying new foods (or re-visting your favorite places like, say, Vinny’s or Casey’s), the Foodie Crawl is a great time to explore East Somerville. I went last year and enjoyed walking down East Broadway (the city closed off the street to vehicle traffic), visiting with neighbors, and spending time in a Somerville neighborhood that doesn’t always get its fair share of love.

For more information and a schedule of the evening – including an after-party at Vinny’s with live music and desserts sponsored by Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage! – check out the East Somerville Main Streets website.

Thanks, Rachael! I’m happy to be participating a second year in a row. And this year’s I’m a sponsor – along with Coldwell Banker. My name will be in the program! πŸ™‚

Did you hear any of the musicians? My friend Diane was playing fiddle with some other folks – she’s the new director at El Sistema Somerville which is an amazing new music program at East Somerville Community School! (and yes, I read your blog) πŸ™‚

I was at the after-party at Vinny’s and there were two musicians there but no one on the fiddle πŸ™ I’d love to talk to you about El Sistema in Somerville. When I was at the Fluff Fest I ended up talking with the Music Director for Somerville Schools (I bought a fluffernutter sandwich from the High School music dept). Thanks for reading – and commenting!
